Exeats for Leave-out Weekends, Floating Weekends and Days Out

Students are allowed two leave-out weekend per term from Friday after lunch until Sunday 21:00.  Students may return before breakfast in time for roll-call on Monday by prior arrangement with the Senior Housemaster.

If the term is unusually long, two leave-out weekends may be granted.  In this case, there will be only one floating weekend.
 
In addition to the above, all students are allowed a maximum of two Saturdays out granted by the Senior Housemaster.  Saturday 08:30-17:55 with the usual proviso about sports commitments.

All boarders may, in addition, have two floating weekends.  A floating weekend will commence at13:15 on Friday provided the student has no sports commitments. If the 1st Rugby XV is playing a home fixture on the Saturday, students may leave only after the 1st XV game. Students return before 17:55 on Sunday or before 06:45 on Monday morning by prior arrangement with the Senior Housemaster. Permission for a floating weekend must be obtained from the Senior Housemaster. A letter or a fax from the parent or the host whom the student is visiting must be presented to the Senior Housemaster on the Thursday preceding the weekend.

Exeats for Lunch Out or Supper Out

A student may have 2 lunches and 2 suppers out.  Lunches Out and Suppers Out midweek and Supper Out on Sunday evening are strongly discouraged.

Lunch Out is for lunch only and will not take up the whole day - times to be negotiated with the Housemaster.
Supper out: students will return to hostel to be in bed at the usual time unless special permission has been granted.
A Supper Out midweek will be given only to parents or to immediate family for a special occasion.
Return from a Supper Out on Sunday is 21:00 for all Grades.
A letter or fax requesting permission must be presented before an exeat can be granted.

Other Exeats

Boarders may visit friends on the visiting list on Sundays and must return to school before 18:00. Boarders may visit Collegiate High School on Friday and Sunday afternoons only. No evening visiting.

Special leave for Doctors and Dentists - appointments for such visits must be made through the Medical Matron. Students are to report back to the Matron after the visit.

General town leave after breakfast on Saturdays. Newpots must obtain permission.  Private houses are strictly out of bounds unless special permission has been obtained.  

Students will not go to the cinema without the permission of the Senior Housemaster.

Telephone

Students may not take telephone calls during meal times.

During prep hours students may not take local calls; trunk calls may be taken in matters of urgency but normally after 20:45.
