Exeats

Exeats for Leave-out Weekends, Floating Weekends and Days Out

All weekend Exeats must be emailed to the Exeat mailbox (Exeats @ Grey High Hostel exeats@greyhighschool.com) by the Thursday before the weekend, by 18.00.

The first weekend of every term is a compulsory “in-weekend.”  Students are also expected to stay in for one more weekend as part of their grade “in-weekend”.

Students may leave at 14h00 on a Friday and must return by 17h50 on Sunday or 6h30 on Monday morning

Exeats for Lunch Out or Supper Out

Lunch Out is for lunch only and will not take up the whole day – times to be negotiated with the Housemaster.
Supper out: students will return to hostel to be in bed at the usual time unless special permission has been granted.
A Supper Out midweek will be given only to parents or to immediate family for a special occasion.
Return from a Supper Out on Sunday is 21:00 for all Grades.
A letter or email requesting permission must be presented before an exeat can be granted.

Other Exeats

Boarders may visit friends on the visiting list on Sundays and must return to school before 18:00. Boarders may visit Collegiate High School on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons only. No evening visiting.

Special leave for Doctors and Dentists – appointments for such visits must be made through the Medical Matron. Students are to report back to the Matron after the visit.

General town leave after breakfast on Saturdays. Newpots must obtain permission. Private houses are strictly out of bounds unless special permission has been obtained.

Students will not go to the cinema without the permission of the Housemaster on duty.

Telephone

Students may not take telephone calls during meal times.

During prep hours students may not take calls.
