Proms Concert

The Proms Concert in the Memorial Quad took place a little later this year because of our first term musical, “Seven Brides”. Proms was extremely well attended by a generous spirited audience who expressed their delight at the presentation with abandon. The String Orchestra, the Voices and the Symphonic Winds entertained brilliantly and we were blessed with the best of weather. A perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. The Grey Voices were honoured to be invited this year to perform at the 2015 NMMU Alumni Concert in the DR Church in Summerstrand. Their performance was enthusiastically received by an enormous audience that waited through an entire load shedding session to hear the concert. Mr Shawn Lyon also performed Handel’s “Suite in D” on the Piccolo Trumpet, accompanied by Miss Sulani Heunis on the magnificent Organ at the facility.
