Interhouse Hockey
Competition Rules
Each House must have a Junior (U14 & U16) and a Senior team. Players are not allowed to play for both Senior & Junior house team. A team is made up of 7 players.
Playing Kit
Grey High match shorts and socks to be worn. House vests must be worn over a white shirt.
Matches
Matches are 12 minutes ONE way. Matches must start on time. It is the captain’s responsibility to ensure that his players are ready to play and that his goalkeeper is kitted up on time. If no goalkeeper, then must have a kicking back (who wears a
different colour shirt and must wear a helmet). If a team fails to arrive, the opposition will be awarded 3 points and a 5 – 0 win.
Normal hockey rules apply.
Points System
3 points awarded for a win
1 point awarded for a draw
0 points awarded for a loss
Bonus points: 1 bonus point awarded for 5 goals or more winning margin
Points for final positions
1st – 6 points
2nd – 5 points
3rd – 4 points
4th – 3 points
5th – 2 points
6th – 1 points
Final Positions
Final positions in each age group will be determined by points gained during the competition. If teams are equal on points then goal difference will count.
If a match in a play-off is a draw, the match will be decided on a sudden death penalty strokes.
There must be a result in play-off matches.
Overall House Points Standings
These are calculated by adding the points of the Junior and Senior teams for each house. In the case of houses ending up on equal points, then that particular position will be shared.
